Jacob Daniel DeShazer (15 November 1912 – 15 Maret 2008) terlibat dalam Serangan Doolittle sebagai sersan staf dan kemudian menjadi misionaris di Jepang.
Tahun-tahun awal
DeShazer lahir pada 15 November 1912 di West Stayton, Oregon dan lulus dari Madras High School di Madras, Oregon pada 1931. Ia masuk Korps Udara Angkatan Darat Amerika Serikat pada 1940, dan naik pangkat menjadi sersan pada 1941. Pada Minggu 7 Desember 1941, ketika menggunakan kamar mandi, DeShazer mendengar berita serangan Pearl Harbor di radio. Ia menjadi berang dan berkata: "Jepang harus membayar semua ini!"[1]
