Jacob Emden, juga dikenal sebagai Ya'avetz (4 Juni 1697 – 19 April 1776), adalah seorang rabi dan talmudis Jerman utama yang menantang Yahudi Ortodoks.[1][2] Emden adalah putra dari Chacham Tzvi, dan keturunan dari Elijah Ba'al Shem of Chelm. Ia menjalani sebagian besar masa hidupnya di Altona (kini bagian dari Hamburg, Jerman), dimana ia tak memiliki posisi rabinik resmi dan menjalani hidup dengan mencetak buku-buku.[3]
