Jaguar X-Type adalah mobil eksekutif kompak bermesin depan, all-wheel/front-wheel drive yang diproduksi dan dipasarkan oleh Jaguar Cars dari 2001 hingga 2009 di bawah sebutan internal X400, untuk satu generasi, dalam gaya sedan/saloon dan wagon/estate. Selain menawarkan station wagon/estate pertama Jaguar dalam produksi seri, tipe X pada akhirnya akan memperkenalkan mesin diesel pertamanya, mesin empat silinder dan konfigurasi penggerak roda depan.
X-Type dikembangkan selama periode Jaguar dimiliki oleh Ford sebagai divisi dari Premier Automotive Group (PAG) (1999-2010) - dan menandai masuknya Jaguar ke segmen eksekutif kompak yang kritis. Program ini bertujuan untuk menggandakan penjualan marque di seluruh dunia - membutuhkan perluasan sumber daya teknik, kapasitas pabrik, kemampuan pemasaran, dukungan penjualan dan layanan.[1] Saat peluncuran, Autocar menyebut X-Type sebagai "Jaguar terpenting yang pernah ada".[2]
