James K. Hoffmeier (lahir 13 Februari 1951) adalah seorang sarjana Perjanjian Lama asal Amerika Serikat. Dia adalah Profesor Perjanjian Lama dan Sejarah Timur Dekat Kuno dan Arkeologi di Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Hoffmeier memiliki gelar dari Wheaton College dan gelar PhD dari Universitas Toronto.^[1]

Dia mengkhususkan diri dalam isu-isu Perjanjian Lama historitas dan arkeologi.

Selama periode dari tahun 1975 hingga 1977, ia bekerja di Proyek Kuil Akhenaten yang berbasis di Luxor. Ia menjadi Profesor Arkeologi dan Perjanjian Lama di Wheaton College, dan menjabat sebagai direktur Penggalian di Tell el-Borg, Sinai dari tahun 1998 hingga 2008.
