Janabai

Janābāi adalah penyair religius Marathi dalam tradisi Hindu di India, yang lahir sekitar dasawarsa ke-7 atau ke-8 abad ke-13 Masehi. Menurut cerita rakyat, ia meninggal pada tahun 1350. Bersama Dnyaneshwar, Namdev, Eknath, dan Tukaram, Janabai memiliki kedudukan mulia di antara umat Hindu Marathi yang khususnya termasuk sekte warakari di Maharashtra. Sesuai dengan tradisi di India di Maharashtra, gelar sant (संत) ditujukan kepada orang-orang yang dianggap sebagai orang suci. Semua tokoh agama di atas termasuk Janabai umumnya diberikan julukan tersebut. Maka Janabi dikenal pula sebagai Sant Janab.
