Jaringan pribadi

Dalam jaringan IP, jaringan pribadi adalah sebuah jaringan komputer yang menggunakan ruang alamat IP pribadi. Baik IPv4 maupun IPv6 menetapkan jangkauan alamat IP yang tergolong sebagai alamat IP pribadi.[1][2] Alamat-alamat ini biasanya digunakan untuk jaringan area lokal (local area network, LAN) di lingkungan rumah dan kantor.

Alamat IP pribadi tidak dialokasikan kepada organisasi tertentu. Semua orang bisa menggunakan alamat ini tanpa meminta persetujuan dari registri Internet wilayah atau lokal. Ruang alamat IP pribadi awalnya ditetapkan untuk membantu menunda kehabisan alamat IPv4. Paket IP yang berasal dari atau dikirim ke alamat IP pribadi tidak bisa dirutekan melalui Internet publik.

Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) telah mengarahkan Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) untuk menyimpan jangkauan alamat IPv4 berikut untuk jaringan pribadi:[1]: 4
