Javert (pengucapan bahasa Prancis: [ʒavɛʁ]) adalah tokoh antagonis di dalam novel Les Misérables karya Victor Hugo. Ia dilahirkan pada tahun 1780[1] dan merupakan seorang inspektur polisi yang terobsesi dengan penangkapan dan penghukuman seorang mantan penjahat yang bernama Jean Valjean.

Victor Hugo menggambarkan Javert sebagai tokoh yang tidak sekadar antagonistik, tetapi juga tragis karena ia sangat terobsesi dengan keadilan.[2] Ia merasa bahwa tindakan-tindakannya merupakan tindakan yang benar dan sesuai dengan asas keadilan. Landasan moralnya telah dikategorikan sebagai moral legalis.[3]
