Jay Cocks
John C. "Jay" Cocks, Jr. (lahir 12 Januari 1944) adalah seorang kritikus film dan penulis naskah asal Amerika. Ia adalah seorang lulusan dari Kenyon College.[1] Ia adalah seorang kritikus untuk Time, Newsweek, dan Rolling Stone, serta majalah-majalah lainnya, sebelum beralih menulis skenario.[1] Ia menikahi aktris Verna Bloom.
Sebagai penulis naskah, ia dikenal atas kolaborasinya dengan Martin Scorsese, terutama pada film-film The Age of Innocence[2] dan Gangs of New York[3] — sebuah skenario yang mulai ia karjakan pada 1976 — serta Strange Days karya Kathryn Bigelow.[4]
