Kehidupan pribadi

DeMunn lahir di Buffalo, New York, putra dari Violet (née Paulus) dan James DeMunn, dan anak tiri dari aktris Betty Lutes DeMunn.[1][2] Ia lulus dari Union College dengan gelar Sarjana Seni dalam bahasa Inggris.

DeMunn menikahi Ann Sekjaer pada tahun 1974; mereka bercerai pada tahun 1995. Ia menikah dengan Kerry Leah pada tahun 2001.[3]
