Joseph Maria Olbrich (22 Desember 1867 – 8 Agustus 1908) adalah seorang arsitek Austria dan salah satu pendiri gerakan seni Wiener Secession.

Kehidupan awal

Olbrich dilahirkan di Opava, Schlesien Austria (kini terletak di Republik Ceko), dan merupakan anak ketiga dari pasangan Edmund dan Aloisia.

Karier

Gedung Secession.

Olbrich mempelajari arsitektur di Universitas Seni Terapan Wina (Wiener Staatsgewerbeschule) dan Akademi Seni Rupa Wina. Ia pernah memenangkan beberapa penghargaan, termasuk Prix de Rome.[1]

Pada tahun 1897, Gustav Klimt, Olbrich, Josef Hoffmann, dan Koloman Moser mendirikan kelompok artistik Wiener Secession. Olbrich merancang gedung pameran mereka yang kini disebut Gedung Secession.[2]
