Joshua Humphreys

Joshua Humphreys (17 Juni 1751 – 12 Januari 1838) adalah seorang pembangun kapal dan arsitek angkatan laut Amerika. Ia adalah konstruktor dari enam fregat asli Angkatan Laut Amerika Serikat dan dikenal sebagai "Bapak Angkatan Laut Amerika".[1]

Humphreys lahir di Ardmore, Kotapraja Haverford, Pennsylvania, dan wafat di tempat yang sama. Ia adalah putra dari Joshua Humphreys dan Sarah Williams,[2] cucu laki-laki dari Daniel Humphreys dan Hannah Wynne (putri dari Dr. Thomas Wynne). Ia adalah keponakan dari Charles Humphreys. Tempat tinggalnya, Pont Reading, masih merupakan tempat tinggal pribadi.
