Kabel diplomatik
Kabel diplomatik atau kawat diplomatik adalah pesan rahasia yang dikomunikasikan antara sebuah misi luar negeri (seperti kedutaan besar atau konsulat) dengan pemerintah (terutama kementrian luar negeri) di negara asalnya.[1][2][3] Istilah kabel atau kawat muncul dari zaman dahulu ketika komunikasi seperti ini dikirim melalui telegraf dan kabel komunikasi bawah laut. Karena isi pesan seperti ini sering sensitif, kawat diplomatis biasanya diamankan dengan mekanisme keamanan (seperti enkripsi) untuk mencegah dibacanya pesan tersebut oleh pihak-pihak seperti wartawan atau pemerintah asing.
