Kuda jragem yang dikebiri

Kalang adalah suatu corak warna bulu kuda cokelat tua. Warna ini paling tepat digambarkan sebagai warna bulu berwarna hitam atau hampir hitam dengan rambut kemerahan atau sawo matang pada bagian-bagian “lunak” seperti moncong, sekitar mata, bagian dalam telinga, perut bagian bawah, belakang siku, dan di depan sendi lutut belakang.[1][2][3][4] Seperti warna bulu kuda lainnya, kalang memiliki tingkat kecerahan yang beragam. Ragam tergelap hampir sepenuhnya terlihat hitam kecuali pada area bagian tubuh yang lunak. Kuda berwarna kalang yang lebih muda bisa disalahkirakan sebagai kapisa tua atau jragem. Bagian surai, ekor, dan kaki kuda kalang selalu berwarna hitam.[1]
