Pembuatan dan reaksi
Kalium bifluorida dibuat dengan mereaksikan kalium karbonat atau kalium hidroksida dengan asam fluorida:
- 2 HF + KOH → KHF2 + H2O
Elektrolisis KHF2 dimanfaatkan oleh Henri Moissan untuk mengisolasi unsur fluorin pada tahun 1886.
