Kemiringan:

Dalam matematika, kemiringan atau kecerunan (bahasa Inggris: gradient, slope) suatu garis adalah angka yang menunjukkan arah dan kecuraman garis tersebut.[1] Kemiringan umumnya diberi tanda huruf m.[2]

  • arah dari garis adalah baik meningkat, menurun, horizontal atau vertikal.
    • garis meningkat apabila naik dari kiri ke kanan. Kemiringan ini bernilai positif, misalnya .
    • garis menurun jika turun dari kiri ke kanan. Kemiringan ini bernilai negatif, misalnya .
    • Jika garis horizontal maka kemiringan bernilai nol. Ini adalah fungsi konstan.
    • Jika garis vertikal maka kemiringannya tak terdefinisi.
  • Kecuraman, kemiringan, atau tingkat garis diukur oleh nilai absolut kemiringan. Kemiringan dengan nilai absolut lebih besar menunjukkan garis lebih curam.
