Kode wilayah DVD
Kode wilayah DVD adalah kode khusus untuk setiap DVD dan DVD player untuk mengidentifikasi wilayah di mana DVD yang seharusnya didistribusikan. Kode ini digunakan oleh perusahaan-perusahaan film untuk mengontrol penjualan dan distribusi produk ke daerah tertentu. Hal ini terutama ditujukan untuk menghentikan pembajakan.
Pada tahap awal, bahkan pemutar DVD memiliki kode wilayah. Hanya DVD format tertentu bisa dimainkan pada pemutar DVD. Tapi pemutar DVD modern dapat memutar DVD untuk semua format.
