Kucing tandang[4][5] (Prionailurus planiceps) adalah kucing liar kecil yang tersebar di Semenanjung Thailand-Melayu, Kalimantan dan Sumatra. Sejak 2008, telah terdaftar sebagai terancam punah oleh IUCN karena perusakan lahan basah di habitatnya. Hal ini diduga bahwa ukuran populasi efektif bisa kurang dari 2.500 orang dewasa, tanpa subpopulasi memiliki ukuran populasi efektif lebih besar dari 250 individu dewasa.[2]

Seperti beberapa kucing kecil lainnya, awalnya ditempatkan dalam genus Felis, tetapi sekarang dianggap sebagai salah satu dari lima spesies di Prionailurus.[1][6]

Kucing berkepala datar sangat langka di penangkaran, dengan kurang dari 10 individu, semua disimpan di kebun binatang Malaysia dan Thailand sebagaimana dicatat oleh ISIS.[7]
