Lactobacillus buchneri merupakan bakteri fermentasi yang menghasilkan asam laktat dan asam asetat selama fermentasi. Bakteri ini digunakan sebagai inokulan bakteri untuk meningkatkan stabilitas aerobik silase.[1]

Penamaan bakteri ini diambil dari nama Prof. E. Buchner, seorang Ahli bakteriologi Jerman.[2]

Karakteristik

L. buchneri adalah bakteri gram-positif, non -motil, berbentuk batang, tunggal, berpasangan, tersusun dalam rantai atau dalam filamen. Bakteri ini tumbuh optimal pada kisaran suhu 32° - 37 °C.[2]
