Lates merupakan sebuah genus ikan dalam keluarga baramundi (Latidae).[4] Semua spesiesnya adalah ikan predator, dan Perch nil (L. niloticus) merupaka salah satunya yang terkenal sebagai spesies invasif setelah disebar ke Danau Victoria, Afrika Timur, sehingga banyak ikan penghuni danau tersebut yang punah. beberapa spesies ikan anggota genus ini dengan distribusi Afrika atau Asia yang relatif terbatas dianggap terancam.
