Lorakarbef adalah antibiotik karbasefem, tetapi kadang-kadang dikelompokkan bersama dengan antibiotik sefalosporin generasi kedua.[1] Lorakarbef adalah analog "karba" sintetis dari sefaklor dan lebih stabil.

Kegunaan dan indikasi

Lorakarbef digunakan untuk mengobati infeksi paru-paru, sinus maksilaris, tenggorokan, kulit, dan saluran kemih.[2]

Spektrum aktivitas

Lorakarbef memiliki efektivitas spektrum luas terhadap bakteri Gram-negatif dan Gram-positif, termasuk bakteri yang memicu infeksi saluran napas, sinus, amandel, kulit, saluran kemih, dan ginjal. Obat ini secara khusus digunakan untuk infeksi yang disebabkan oleh Escherichia coli, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, dan Moraxella catarrhalis.
