Security Service, umumnya dikenal sebagai MI5 (Unit Intelijen Militer, Bagian 5),[2] adalah kontra-intelijen dan agen keamanan domestik Britania Raya dan merupakan bagian dari mesin intelijen di samping Secret Intelligence Service (SIS atau MI6) berfokus pada ancaman asing, Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) dan Defence Intelligence (DI). Semua berada di bawah arahan Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC). Layanan ini memiliki dasar hukum dalam Undang-Undang Layanan Keamanan 1989 dan UU Intelijen 1994. Kekuasaanya mencakup perlindungan demokrasi Parlemen Inggris dan kepentingan ekonomi, kontra-terorisme dan kontra spionase di Inggris. Meskipun terutama berkaitan dengan keamanan dalam negeri, itu memang memiliki peran luar negeri dalam mendukung misinya.
