Mantophasmatodea adalah ordo serangga karnivora Afrika yang ditemukan pada tahun 2002. Mereka endemik terhadap Afrika Selatan bagian barat dan Namibia (Brandberg Massif[1] Diarsipkan 2007-12-17 di Wayback Machine.). Ordo ini dinamai berdasarkan ordo terdekat mereka yaitu Mantodea dan Phasmatodea.[1]
Terdapat tiga spesies:

Karakteristik
Serangga ini merupakan serangga hemimetabola, tidak bersayap, berantena panjang, berkepala hypognathous, dan memiliki seksual dimorfisme seperti pejantan lebih kecil daripada betina. Serangga ini memiliki perilaku seperti Mantodea tetapi badannya berbentuk seperti Phasmatodea.[1]
Telur serangga ini menetas ketika awal musim hujan. Nimfa berkembang pada musim hujan dan serangga dewasa pada akhir musim hujan.[1]
