Maria Schicklgruber

Maria Anna Schicklgruber (15 April 1795 – 7 Januari 1847) adalah ibu Alois Hitler, dan nenek pihak ayah Adolf Hitler.

Keluarga

Maria lahir di desa Strones, kawasan Waldviertel, Kadipaten Utama Austria. Ia adalah putri dari pasangan Theresia Pfeisinger (7 September 1769 – 11 November 1821), dan petani Johannes Schicklgruber (29 Mei 1764 – 12 November 1847). Maria adalah orang Katolik; yang diketahui berdasarkan pada catatan gereja dan catatan publik lainnya.

Maria adalah salah satu dari sebelas anak, hanya enam yang bertahan hidup pada masa bayi. Kehidupan awalnya adalah menjadi anak desa miskin di sebuah kawasan desa berhutan, di bagian barat laut Austria Hilir, barat laut Wina.
