Martin Sensmeier merupakan seorang aktor Amerika Serikat berketurunan Koyukon-Athabascan.[4] Ia dikenal sebagai aktor yang berperan dalam film The Magnificent Seven.

Latar belakang

Martin Sensmeier lahir di Anchorage, Alaska,[3] putra dari Raymond dan Eva Sensmeier dan tumbuh di Yakutat. Ayahnya adalah Tlingit dan ibunya keturunan Koyukon-Athabascan dari Ruby di Yukon River.[5]

Ia mengawali kariernya sebagai seorang tukang las, sebelum bekerja di kereta minyak di Doyon Drilling. Ia mengundurkan diri untuk mengejar kariernya di Los Angeles.[4][6] Ia mulai berkarier sebagai model sebelum memasuki dunia seni. Film pertamanya adalah film indie thriller berjudul False Memory Syndrome.[1] Ia menjadi aktor utama dalam film The Magnificent Seven, bersama lawan mainnya antara lain Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke dan Vincent D'Onofrio.[7]

Sampai dengan 2016, Sensmeier menjalin hubungan dengan vokalis kelahiran Amerika Serikat Kahara Hodges.[6][8] Sensmeier merupakan bagian dari The Native Wellness Institute, advokasi untuk anak muda yang membuatnya bangga sebagai keturunan Alaska.[9]
