Martirologi

Martirologi merupakan suatu kata yang secara harfiah mengacu pada buku liturgi, kumpulan pemberitahuan singkat tentang perayaan para Santo. Martirologi Kristen mungkin juga memuat doa-doa pemberkatan atau penyucian. Istilah ini tidak hanya berarti « daftar para martir », melainkan juga merujuk pada daftar liturgi tokoh-tokoh yang dikenali sebagai santo oleh Gereja, tokoh-tokoh « yang bersaksi »[1] dari iman Kristen mereka [a].

Saat ini, kata « martirologi » kadang-kadang disalahgunakan untuk merujuk pada nomenklatur kepribadian yang telah mengabdikan upaya mereka, atau bahkan keberadaan mereka, untuk membela tujuan, nilai, atau komunitas.
