Mekelle (bahasa Tigrinya: መቐለ?, bahasa Amhara: መቐለ or መቀሌ?), juga ditransliterasikan menjadi Makale[1] atau Meqele, adalah ibu kota Region Tigray di Etiopia. Kota ini terletak 780 kilometer di sebelah utara ibu kota Etiopia Addis Ababa pada koordinat , dengan ketinggian 2084 meter di atas permukaan laut. Secara administratif, Mekelle dianggap sebagai Zona Khusus, yang terbagi menjadi empat sub-kota, yaitu Adi Haki (ዓዲ ሓቂ), Ayder (ዓይደር), Hadinet (ሓድነት), Hawelti (ሓወልቲ), Kedamay Weyane (ቀዳማይ ወያነ), Quiha (ኲሓ), dan Semien (ሰሜን). Kota ini merupakan pusat ekonomi, budaya, dan poitik di Etiopia utara.
