Mekanika Hamiltonian merupakan pengembangan matematis dari formulasi hukum Newton tentang gerak. Hasil keluaran (output) dari formulasi Mekanika Hamiltonian untuk kasus mekanika klasik akan sama dengan hukum Newton dan formulasi Lagrangian tetapi dengan formalisme matematis yang berbeda.
