Merle Robert Travis (29 November 1917 – 20 Oktober 1983) adalah seorang penyanyi, penulis lagu dan gitaris country dan western Amerika di Rosewood, Kentucky. Lirik-lirik dari lagunya sering kali menyinggung kehidupan dan ekspolitasi ekonomi dari para penambang batubara Amerika. Beberapa lagu terkenalnya adalah "Sixteen Tons," "Re-Enlistment Blues," "I am a Pilgrim,"^[1] dan "Dark as a Dungeon."
