Michael William Balfe (15 Mei 1808 – 20 Oktober 1870) adalah seorang komponis asal Irlandia. Ia dikenal untuk opera buatannya The Bohemian Girl.
Setelah berkarier singkat sebagai pemain biola, Balfe menjalani karier menyanyi opera, sesambil ia memulai komposisi. Dalam karier selama lebih dari 40 tahun, ia mengkomposisikan setidaknya 29 opera, sekitar 250 lagu dan karya lainnya. Ia juga merupakan konduktor terkenal, menyutradarai Opera Italia di Her Majesty's Theatre selama tujuh tahun.
