Microdecemplex rolfei adalah satu-satunya spesies yang diketahui dari ordo kaki seribu bertubuh kecil yang punah Microdecemplicida. Ordo tersebut dianggap pada deskripsi awalnya sebagai anggota subkelas punah Arthropleuridea,[1] namun kajian tahun 2024 menyatakan bahwa spesies tersebut berasal dari subkelas Chilognatha.[2] Fosil-fosil, yang berukuran kurang dari 5 mm, yang diketahui dari Formasi Gunung Panther di Negara Bagian New York, berasal dari tahap Devon Tengah. Spesies tersebut nampak kurang antena dan menunjukkan dimorfisme seksual di kakinya, yang mirip dengan fungsi telopoda dari kaki seribu pil jantan yang masih hidup yang dipakai untuk menyergap betina saat pembuahan.[1][3]
