Montgomery (/mɒntˈɡʌməri/) adalah ibu kota negara bagian Alabama, Amerika Serikat. Kota ini juga merupakan kota dengan penduduk kedua terbanyak, kota metropolitan dengan penduduk keempat terbanyak di Alabama, serta ibu kota dari County Montgomery. Penduduknya berjumlah 201.568 jiwa pada tahun (2000).[2] Montgomery adalah kota utama dari Area Metropolitan Montgomery.[3] Pada tahun 2009 penduduk Montgomery diperkirakan sekitar 202.124 jiwa.[4]

Kota ini terbentuk pada tahun 1819, sebagai gabungan/merger dari 2 kota kecil di Sungai Alabama. Kota ini menjadi ibu kota Alabama tahun 1846. Bulan Februari 1861, Montgomery terpilih sebagai ibu kota pertama dari Konfederasi Amerika sampai kemudian pemerintahnya memindahkannya ke Richmond, Virginia pada bulan Mei 1861.[5] Pada pertengahan abad ke-20, Montgomery merupakan tempat yang penting bagi Pergerakan Hak Sipil Afrika-Amerika,[6] termasuk di dalamnya Boikot Bus Montgomery dan Selma to Montgomery marches.[5]
