Musik Islandia
Music Islandia mencakup tradisi folk dan pop yang dinamis, serta dunia musik klasik dan kontemporer yang aktif. Artis terkenal dari Islandia termasuk grup musik abad pertengahan, Voces Thules, band rock alternatif The Sugarcubes, penyanyi Björk, Laufey, Daði Freyr, Hafdís Huld dan Emiliana Torrini, band post-rock, Sigur Rós, band post-metal Sólstafir, band indie folk/indie pop Of Monsters and Men, band blues/rock Kaleo, band metal Skálmöld dan band techno-industrial Hatari. Musik tradisional Islandia terkait dengan bentuk musik Nordik. Meskipun Islandia memiliki populasi yang sangat kecil, Islandia adalah rumah bagi banyak band dan musisi terkenal dan dipuji.
Lagu Kebangsaan
Lagu kebangsaan Islandia adalah "Lofsöngur", ditulis oleh Matthías Jochumsson, dengan musik oleh Sveinbjörn Sveinbjörnsson.[1] Lagu berbentuk himne ini ditulis pada tahun 1874, ketika Islandia merayakan ulang tahun keseribu pemukiman di pulau tersebut. Lagu tersebut pertama kali diterbitkan dengan judul "A Hymn in Commemoration of Iceland's Thousand Years".
