NASA Docking System


NASA Docking System (NDS) adalah mekanisme penyandaran dan penambatan wahana antariksa yang dikembangkan untuk misi penerbangan antariksa berawak NASA di masa depan, seperti Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle dan wahana Commercial Crew. NDS adalah implementasi dari sistem International Docking System Standard (IDSS), upaya oleh International Space Station Multilateral Coordination Board (MCB) untuk menciptakan sistem penyandaran standar internasional. Sebuah sistem yang dinamakan international Low Impact Docking System (iLIDS atau LID) adalah pendahulu sistem NDS.[1] NDS Block 1 dirancang dan diproduksi oleh Boeing di Houston TX untuk memenuhi standar IDSS. Pengujian kualifikasi desain dilaksanakan pada Januari 2017.
