Neowerdermannia adalah genus kaktus asal Amerika Selatan.
Deskripsi
Spesies dari genus Neowerdermannia yang tumbuh rendah ini berbentuk bulat hingga bulat pipih dan memiliki akar tunggang yang kuat. Sekitar 16 rusuk yang biasanya berbentuk spiral hampir tidak dapat dibedakan karena terbagi menjadi tonjolan-tonjolan (warts). Areola sering kali tenggelam dan terletak di pangkal bagian atas tonjolan. Beberapa duri yang muncul darinya melengkung atau berkait.
Bunganya yang berbentuk corong berwarna putih hingga merah muda keunguan. Bunga-bunga ini mekar di siang hari. Cawan bunga dan tabung bunga yang pendek tertutup oleh sisik berdaging dan areola yang gundul.
Buah yang berbentuk bulat, terbuka secara horizontal atau menyamping, berisi biji kasar yang berbentuk telur lebar.[1]
