Nepenthes leyte adalah kantung semar tropis yang berasal dari Filipina. Spesies ini tampaknya endemik di pulau Leyte, yang menjadi asal penamaan spesies ini. Tanaman ini telah tercatat di hutan lumut submontana pada ketinggian 900 m.[1]

Spesies ini termasuk dalam kelompok informal "kelompok N. alata", yang juga mencakup N. alata, N. ceciliae, N. copelandii, N. extincta, N. graciliflora, N. hamiguitanensis, N. kitanglad, N. kurata, N. mindanaoensis, N. negros, N. ramos, N. saranganiensis, dan N. ultra.[1][2][3][4] Spesies-spesies ini disatukan oleh sejumlah karakter morfologi, termasuk tangkai yang bersayap, tutup dengan punggung basal pada permukaan bawah (seringkali berkembang menjadi tambahan), dan kantong atas yang biasanya paling lebar di dekat pangkal.[1][2]
