New York University Press (atau NYU Press) adalah pers universitas milik Universitas New York.

Sejarah

NYU Press didirikan tahun 1916 oleh kanselir NYU, Elmer Ellsworth Brown, dengan tujuan "menerbitkan sumbangan-sumbangan para ilmuwan untuk pendidikan tinggi."[1]

Reputasi

Selain dikenal sebagai penerbit The Collected Writings of Walt Whitman, NYU Press juga menerbitkan berbagai karya ilmiah pemenang penghargaan seperti Convergence Culture (2007) oleh Henry Jenkins, The Rabbi's Wife (2006) oleh Shuly Schwartz, dan The Encyclopedia of Jewish Life Before and During the Holocaust (2002).[1] Penulis ternama lainnya yang karyanya diterbitkan oleh NYU Press adalah Cary Nelson, Jonathon Hafetz, Samuel R. Delany, dan Mark Denbeaux.

NYU Press disoroti Huffington Post pada tahun 2010 karena "rajin menerbitkan buku-buku ilmiah yang mudah diakses [semua orang]," dan "selalu berada di depan kurva budaya—menciptakan tren sastra—dan tidak membelakanginya".[2]
