Nitobe Inazō (新渡戸 稲造, 1 September 1862 – 15 Oktober 1933) adalah seorang ekonom agribudaya, pengarang, pengajar, diplomat, politikus, dan Kristen Jepang pada periode sebelum Perang Dunia II.
Kehidupan awal
Nitobe lahir di Morioka, Provinsi Mutsu (sekarang Prefektur Iwate). Ayahnya adalah seorang retainer dari daimyō lokal dari klan Nambu. Nama bayinya adalah Inanosuke. Nitobe pergi dari Morioka ke Tokyo pada 1871 untuk menjadi pewaris pamannya, Ota Tokitoshi, dan mengadopsi nama Ota Inazō.
