NixOS adalah sebuah distribusi linux yang dibangun berdasarkan manajer paket dan sistem pembangun nix. NixOS mendukung manajemen konfigurasi sistem yang dapat direproduksi dan deklaratif dalam satu file, memungkinkan pengguna untuk mengatur seluruh sistem hanya dalam 1 file. Setiap komponen dalam sistem seperti kernel, paket yang dipasang pengguna, dan file konfigurasi dibangun dengan nix.[1][2]
