Ocean Biodiversity Information System (OBIS), yang sebelumnya bernama Ocean Biogeographic Information System, adalah portal berbasis web untuk informasi mengenai persebaran dan kelimpahan spesies yang hidup di lautan. Sistem ini dikembangkan sebagai komponen manajemen informasi dari program Census of Marine Life (CoML), selama sepuluh tahun (2001–2010), namun tidak terbatas pada data yang berasal dari CoML saja. Sistem ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan pandangan terpadu atas seluruh data biodiversitas laut yang tersedia secara akses terbuka oleh masing-masing pengelola data. Menurut situs webnya per Juli 2018, OBIS "adalah pusat pertukaran data dan informasi global dengan akses terbuka mengenai biodiversitas laut untuk kepentingan sains, konservasi, dan pembangunan berkelanjutan." Situs web OBIS mencantumkan 8 tujuan khusus, dengan poin utama yaitu: "Menyediakan basis pengetahuan ilmiah terbesar di dunia mengenai keragaman, distribusi, dan kelimpahan seluruh organisme laut dalam format yang terpadu dan terstandar".[1]
