Oceansat-2 adalah satelit India yang dirancang untuk memberikan kontinuitas layanan bagi pengguna operasional instrumen Ocean Colour Monitor (OCM) di Oceansat-1. Hal ini juga akan meningkatkan potensi aplikasi di daerah lain. Tujuan utama dari OceanSat-2 adalah untuk mempelajari angin permukaan dan laut strata permukaan, pengamatan konsentrasi klorofil, monitoring fitoplankton mekar, studi aerosol atmosfer dan sedimen tersuspensi di dalam air.
