Octodon (dari bahasa Yunani Kuno ὀκτώ (oktṓ), berarti "delapan", dan ὀδούς (odoús), berarti "gigi") adalah sebuah genus hewan pengerat dalam famili Octodontidae yang berasal dari Amerika Selatan, terkhususnya di Andes Chili.[1] Anggotanya yang paling terkenal adalah degu, O. degus, yang dijadikan sebagai hewan peliharaan pada berbagai negara. Dua dari empat spesies Octodon adalah hewan nokturnal.[2][3]
