Oecophylla longinoda adalah spesies semut arboreal yang di temukan di kawasan hutan tropis Afrika. Mereka adalah salah satu hanya dua spesies yang masih hidup dari genus Oecophylla, yang lainnya adalah Oecophylla smaragdina. Mereka membuat sarang di pohon yang terbuat dari daun yang di jahit menjadi satu menggunakan sutra yang di hasilkan oleh larva mereka.
