Olinguito (/ˌoʊlɪŋˈɡiːtoʊ/ [1] Bassaricyon neblina), yang merupakan istilah serapan dari Bahasa Spanyol yang berarti "olingo kecil", adalah spesies mamalia yang termasuk dalam genus Bassaricyon dan famili Procyonidae (kelompok rakun). Hewan ini hidup di hutan Pegunungan Andes, tepatnya di bagian barat Kolombia dan Ekuador.

Karakteristik

Olinguito berbeda dari beberapa spesies lain yang tergabung dalam genus yang dikenal sebagai genus olingo-olingo. Hewan ini juga mirip dengan kinkajou (kinkajou adalah hewan menyerupai olingo, tetapi memiliki perbedaan).[2][3] Berat rata-ratanya adalah 900 gram (2 pon). Membuatnya sebagai spesies procyonid.[1][4][5] Hewan ini adalah omnivor dan frugivora.[6] Maka dari itu, hewan ini suka memakan buah-buahan seperti buah ara). Pada kotorannya ditemukan sisa-sisa blueberry. Hewan ini juga memakan serangga kecil dan nektar.[5][7] Ada dugaan bahwa olinguito adalah hewan nokturnal yang suka menyendiri[6]: 29:30  dan tertutup. Olinguito juga merupakan hewan yang banyak menghabiskan waktunya di atas pohon[3][6]
