Operasi Paula

Unternehmen Paula (Usaha atau Operasi Paula)[3][4] adalah nama sandi yang diberikan untuk operasi Serangan Luftwaffe dalam Perang Dunia Kedua untuk menghancurkan unit yang tersisa dari Armée de l'air (ALA), atau Angkatan Udara Prancis selama Pertempuran Prancis pada tahun 1940. Pada 10 Mei Angkatan Bersenjata Jerman (Wehrmacht) memulai invasi mereka di Eropa Barat. Pada tanggal 3 Juni, Tentara Inggris telah menarik diri dari Dunkirk dalam Operasi Dinamo, Belanda dan Belgia telah menyerah dan sebagian besar formasi Tentara Prancis dibubarkan atau dihancurkan. Untuk menyelesaikan kekalahan Prancis, Jerman melakukan operasi tahap kedua, Fall Rot (Case Red), untuk menaklukkan wilayah yang tersisa. Dalam rangka untuk melakukan hal ini, supremasi udara diperlukan. Luftwaffe diperintahkan untuk menghancurkan Angkatan Udara Prancis, sambil tetap memberikan dukungan kepada Angkatan Darat Jerman.

Untuk operasi, Jerman berkomitmen serangan lima Korps udara, yang terdiri dari 1.100 unit pesawat. Operasi itu diluncurkan pada tanggal 3 Juni 1940. Intelijen Inggris telah memperingatkan Prancis bahwa serangan yang akan datang, dan operasi gagal mencapai hasil strategis yang diinginkan oleh Oberkommando der Luftwaffe (Komando Tinggi Angkatan Udara). Namun, penderitaan Angkatan Darat dan Udara Prancis pada tahap ini berarti bahwa kegagalan operasi tidak akan menghambat kekalahan Prancis.
