Ostracion adalah salah satu genus dari ikan kotak (famili ostraciidae). Genus ikan ini pertama kali dideskripsikan oleh Carl Linnaeus pada 1758. Genus ikan ini juga sempat muncul dalam novel fiksi ilmiah maritim karya Jules Verne yang berjudul Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea ("Dua Puluh Ribu Liga di Bawah Laut").
