Parted Magic merupakan distro Live CD yang didesain untuk tugas manajemen cakram keras, di antaranya melakukan pengolahan partisi. Dalam versi ini sejumlah fitur baru ditambahkan dan yang sudah ada ditingkatkan kemampuannya, termasuk sejumlah sistem perbaikan cakram keras. Parted Magic kini telah mendukung partisi untuk RAID dan initrd telah diganti dengan initramfs.
Untuk menjalankan aplikasi ini, file ISO yang ada harus di-burning ke media CD atau di-mount ke flashdisk Universal Serial Bus untuk selanjutnya melakukan booting dari perangkat komputer atau laptop pengguna.
