Pegar Lady Amherst (Chrysolophus amherstiae) adalah burung dari ordo Galliformes dan keluarga Phasianidae. Nama genusnya dari bahasa Yunani Kuno khrusolophos yang berarti "dengan jambul emas". Nama Inggris adalah amherstiae untuk memperingati Sarah Amherst, istri William Pitt Amherst, Gubernur Jenderal Benggala, yang mengirim spesimen burung ini pertama kali ke London pada tahun 1828.[2]

Spesies asli berasal dari barat daya Tiongkok dan di ujung utara Myanmar, tetapi telah dikenal di tempat lain juga. Sebelumnya, populasi liar swadaya didirikan di Inggris, basisnya berada di Bedfordshire barat. Lady Amherst yang pertama kali memperkenalkan burung hias ini di perkebunannya, dekat Woburn Abbey milik Duke of Bedford, di mana burung-burung di tempat itu juga ditembaki untuk permainan, olahraga dan kawin silang.[3] Namun sejak akhir 2015 spesies ini diyakini sudah punah di Inggris Raya, karena tidak pernah terlihat lagi sejak Maret 2015.
