Pekan raya
Pekan raya adalah sebuah tempat pertemuan orang-orang untuk berbagai kegiatan hiburan atau komersial. Tempat tersebut biasanya berjangka waktu temporer yang berlangsung dari satu siang sampai beberapa pekan.
Riwayat
Pekan-pekan raya dijadikan hari libur pada zaman Romawi. Di provinsi-provinsi Yudea dan Syria Palaestina, para rabbi Yahudi melarang orang Yahudi untuk ikut serta dalam pekan raya di kota-kota tertentu karena unsur keagamaan dari pekan raya berseberangan dengan praktik Yudaisme.[1]
