Geopelia atau perkutut adalah genus merpati kecil berekor panjang dalam famili Columbidae. Mereka berasal dari Asia Tenggara dan Australasia, dan paling sering ditemukan di daerah terbuka dan semak belukar. Mereka memakan biji-bijian di tanah. Mereka biasanya bertelur dua telur di sarang sederhana yang terbuat dari ranting dan rumput. Sebagian besar bulu mereka berwarna cokelat keabu-abuan dengan pola bintik-bintik atau garis-garis. Perkutut jawa dan perkutut intan biasanya dipelihara di penangkaran.

Genus ini diperkenalkan pada tahun 1837 oleh naturalis Inggris William John Swainson dengan perkutut jawa (Geopelia striata) sebagai spesies tipenya.[1] [2] Nama genusnya menggabungkan bahasa Yunani Kuno geō- yang berarti "tanah-" dan peleia yang berarti "merpati".[3]
