Peter Simon Pallas (22 September 1741 – 8 September 1811) adalah seorang ahli zoologi dan ahli botani Prusia yang bekerja di Rusia (1767–1810).
Pada 1767, Pallas diundang oleh Yekaterina II dari Rusia untuk menjadi profesor di Akademi Sains St Petersburg dan antara 1768 dan 1774, ia memimpin ekspedisi ke provinsi-provinsi Rusia tengah, Povolzhye, Ural, Siberia Barat, Altay, dan Transbaikal, mengumpulkan spesimen sejarah alam untuk akademi. Dia menjelajahi Laut Kaspia, Pegunungan Ural dan Altai dan Sungai Amur bagian atas, mencapai sejauh timur ke Danau Baikal.
